A NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS

During the upcoming warm season, mosquitoes are as common as backyard barbeques and swimming pools. Unfortunately, they bring with them not only the discomfort of the occasional bite, but also the possibility of transmitting disease. West Nile virus is of the greatest concern in our area.

We would like to offer the following suggestions that will assist you and your neighbors in the prevention of mosquito breeding in your community. Most mosquitoes remain within a half mile of their breeding site, therefore allowing us to take preventative measures on our own property. The following is a list of recommended actions we as homeowners can perform:

  • Dispose of anything outside that can hold water, i.e. broken toys, tin cans, containers, ceramic pots, and in particular, used tires.
  • Drill holes in the bottom of recycling containers left outdoors.
  • Clean clogged roof gutters every year.
  • Turn over plastic swimming and wading pools and wheelbarrows when not in use.
  • Do not allow water to stagnate in birdbaths, ornamental pools, water gardens, and swimming pools or their covers.
  • Empty accumulated water from boats and cargo trailers.
  • Alter the landscaping of your property to eliminate standing water. Keep in mind that during warm weather, mosquitoes can breed in any puddle of water.
  • Septic tank lids and extensions should be sealed and treated to protect mosquito larvae from breeding.

This last precaution is often overlooked, as most people don't realize that these areas are extremely susceptible for mosquito growth. Please contact us, as we will be able to address this area most economically.
An Opportunity

Municipalities, Engineers, Land Planners, & Developers
It is our responsibility as a group.

Take the opportunity to build an infrastructure for wastewater treatment that will have the potential to pay for itself. Some communities have already begun to implement this type of program.

Communities facing development pressure can adopt sewer ordinances and regulations to provide decentralized wastewater treatment at a fraction of the cost of conventional sewer- and leverage-controlled development, which results into revenue generation to benefit the entire community.

Decentralized wastewater treatment is similar to distributed computer networks or a network of convenience stores that are strategically designed and located to match the demands of the community they serve. Imagine a network of performance-based wastewater treatment systems built and located to meet the development growth, water quality, and public health needs of a community or region. Integrate this network with centrally managed supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) and internet-based telemetry, and you can begin to see the possibilities.

Community interests, such as maintaining water quality, increasing property values, and preserving the quality of life depend on reliable infrastructure for water and wastewater management.

We call it "Distributed Sewer." The EPA considers it a permanent, long-term solution to be evaluated on the same basis as traditional sewer. It is modular, scalable, affordable, and readily deployable. Structured properly and maintained responsibly, the costs to the community can be dramatically reduced.

Public sector responsibility is essential to leveraging value. However, the private sector is now prepared to provide turnkey installations and life cycle services, thereby reducing community responsibilities to routine and familiar administrative functions.

PreDoC, Inc., is a wastewater treatment solutions provider. We integrate collection, treatment, distribution, and bio-solids management systems at a fraction of the capital and life cycle costs of traditional sewer. We work with municipal, residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial waste streams and we warrant what we do. We have projects in the ground throughout Pennsylvania and we are on the internet at www.predoc.com.

Our experience tells us that in just a few hours we can help you to determine if decentralized wastewater treatment and management is worthy of your consideration for strategic planning and business development.

We believe we can be of assistance to you. If you are interested in a presentation or more information for your community, please contact us at 610-935-8590. We would be pleased to be of help to you.

Drip Irrigation Systems Attention!

Ground water recharge and water shed protection have become the number one concerns for all municipalities when reviewing new development plans within their jurisdiction. PreDoC, with its innovative drip irrigation system for waste and storm water recycling, can provide you with a comprehensive plan to accommodate all of your recharge requirements. Storm water recharge would not require any pretreatment and could be directly applied to all landscape areas and open space through the drip irrigation system.

The elimination of standard curbing catch basins and all related piping could, in fact, lower development costs and conserve our natural resources. Instead of the standard boilerplate approach to storm water management, a combination of the drip technology with grass swales, curtain drains, and California-type inlets may allow your development to recycle 100% of all storm water.

The performance of the drip irrigation technology in our area over the past several months has convinced municipalities, engineers, and developers that this system of waste water recycling is one of the best long term methods available.

Please e-mail or contact us to arrange for a presentation of this unique system.
